The Most Reverend Mark (Maymon)

Archbishop of Philadelphia and Eastern Pennsylvania

As a seminarian at Oral Roberts University, he earned a degree in Old Testament and a MA in Old Testament while being a grad fellow. He taught teaching methodology which encouraged guiding students to discover answers for themselves, which resulted in true ownership of the answers. Later he studied at St. Vladimir's Orthodox Theological Seminary and was asked by the director of the Antiochian Village Camp to be morning program director at the Antiochian Village. He created interactive Christian Education materials for each age group and prepared the staff to teach.  The camp had three two week sessions at the time with around 180 campers. His second year at the camp he acted as Program Director, along with developing the overall schedule for morning and afternoon programs and the developing unique Christian education materials for the program. His final year, he again introduced creative Christian education materials for all the campers and instructed staff on how to utilize the materials effectively.

Working with the staff and campers he saw life-long relationships develop and the youth embracing the liturgical cycle there.  Numerous campers and counselors embraced active participation in the daily Liturgical services through singing, chanting and reading. By the Grace of God, the camp positively influenced vocations to the priesthood, active parish membership and committed Orthodox Christians.

His prayer for our camp is that our youth and counselorswill positively experience the beauty of their Faith, internalize it and serve the Lord with all their hearts, their minds, their souls and their strength.

Nena Nebrat

Camp Nurse

Nena is originally from Ukraine and have been living in the US since 1994.  Nena and her husband, George, raised their daughters in Kansas before moving to Pennsylvania in 2014 to be closer to them and both their mothers.  When their daughters were young, Nena enjoyed volunteering as a camp nurse at camp St. Raphael in Oklahoma for several years. Thinking about her daughters at camp brings many wonderful heart warming memories.  Nena medical training is put to good use at Gettysburg Hospital as an acute care nurse practitioner.  Nena loves taking long walks in the woods, riding my bike, going to the beach and watching sunsets in her spare time.  She also love reading good books, sometimes several at once, a little at a time, and spend time with our friends and family.

Nena would like to add, "I am very excited about this new opportunity and looking forward to getting to know the campers and staff at St. Tikhon's camp while helping everyone to be healthy and well."
